On Friday it was super-dreary in Oudtshoorn and it looked like the rain was going to continue into Saturday – not ideal for an outdoor wedding. So waking up on Saturday and seeing clear skies was a big relief for everyone involved but the snow on the Swartberg Mountains meant a COLD evening was awaiting us at De Opstal in Schoemanshoek.
What stands out about Stacey was the reactions of people when mentioning her name – rarely have I come across someone admired by so many different people. Saturday was super cold (8 degrees) but her attitude during this whole wedding was just amazing. Remember the photographer (who checked the weather forecast and dressed accordingly in long-johns and more moves around and can stay warm whereas the poor bride must pose and is mostly static – not ideal for generating heat. Maybe it was the love between her and Ryan that kept them warm! It was clear that her and Ryan were sharing the same core values and that they were surrounded by friends and families that cared deeply about them.
It was a beautiful stylish wedding with Ryan and Stacey giving attention even to the smallest of details. Mathilda, Ilonke and the staff from De Opstal made sure that everything went smoothly. Belong are a small collection of some of the pix from the wedding.
Trying to portray tis in my photos is a privilege and one of the things that I enjoy most about wedding photography. I hope you these pix and that these photos will more than make up for those poses in the cold
